About Seniors of NJ
An independent guide for New Jersey residents over 60 and the people who love them.
Seniors of NJ explains the programs, choices and pleasures of later life in New Jersey, in plain English. We are not a government agency, and no program we write about pays us.
Who runs this site
The site is published by Aaron Reznik of Montclair, who also runs Home Happenings, a service that sends local teachers into homes for lessons. You'll see it mentioned on a few pages, always labeled. We also mention Connections Care Management, a care management practice led by the publisher's mother, Lisa Kolton, LCSW. Neither one affects what we say about public programs.
How we check facts
- Every figure comes from an official or reputable source, linked at the bottom of the guide.
- Every guide shows the date we last checked it.
- When rules change mid-year, we update the guide and the date.
- We never publish made-up stories, quotes or reviews.
What we are not
We don't give legal, tax, financial or medical advice. For decisions about your own situation, talk with your county office on aging, a SHIP counselor, an elder law attorney or your doctor.
